In the fifth century B.C., little did the Greek philosopher Socrates know how his quote “Wisdom Begins in Wonder,” would be my inspiration! I marvel at the Autumn oranges, burgundy, and yellows that are shared with the warm colors of the Tibetan Buddhist tradition! This pattern began with a photograph of the wind worn burgundy fabric covering the exterior doors of the Shey Monastery in Ladakh, India. The inner pillowcase view captures the Himalayas from the threshold. Marigolds are a sacred flower over much of India. The beauty of one is said to be worth reciting a thousand mantras. Here and now is part of the future.

The orange and yellow marigolds of our Autumn meet the burgundy of the Tibetan tradition to create the “WISDOM BEGINS IN WONDER” POEM CROWN textile pattern.
