QUILT LOVE Tote - Limited Edition of 3

QUILT LOVE Tote, Side A

Where did my quilt LOVE begin?

My LOVE of quilts began in 1977 during my friendship with Mrs. Mary Ann Jensen, my Seattle neighbor. Mrs. Jensen hiked Mount Rainier in Tabu perfume, loved our kitty cat as her own, and hired me to gather fallen camellia blossoms in her garden. I was twelve years old when she showed me her “double wedding ring” quilt from 1930’s Boise, Idaho. This was my first face-to-face quilt experience. Mrs. Jensen explained that each little fabric swatch came from her family’s and friends’ garments, pieces of her memories remembered, and not forgotten.

My quilt interest led to books, yard sales in search of discarded quilts, college courses on fabric history, and a career as a textile designer.

Sometimes, I come across discarded old quilts, thread bare with some rips and tears from use after use. The quilt used for these three totes was shredded, in some major spots, so I repurposed it to make these three memorable reversible totes.

WELCOME this QUILT LOVE into your LOVE LIFE!
